Peer-to-peer files

Peer-to-peer encrypted file storage

Drive syncs files directly between your devices and collaborators over Hyperswarm. Encrypted, key-addressed, no cloud account — and it feeds your knowledge base.

Browser · macOS · Windows · Linux · ChromeOS

Synced with 3 peers

What it does

A drive is a key. Open it on any device and the files replicate peer-to-peer; share the key and a collaborator has the same drive. Documents dropped into a drive can be indexed into Knowledge Base for search and agent context.

01
Direct syncFiles move device-to-device over encrypted Hyperswarm connections.
02
Key-addressedA drive is identified by its key, not an account; open it anywhere.
03
Share by key or invitePublic or restricted drives with a signed member list.
04
Knowledge ingestionSend documents to Knowledge Base for semantic search.
05
Desktop integrationAppears as FileDrive inside VIMS Desktop with the same key.
06
No storage billYour devices hold the data; nothing is uploaded to VIMS.

How it works

  1. Create a drive
  2. Add files and share the key
  3. Open it on another device or in the desktop app

FAQ

Is anything stored on VIMS servers?

No. Peers exchange data directly; a relay only helps them find each other.

What if all my devices are offline?

A drive is available whenever at least one peer holding it is online.

Can I use VIMS Drive in a browser and in VIMS Desktop?

Yes. Open it at its subdomain, or use the same surface inside the VIMS Desktop client — same key, same data.

How does VIMS Drive connect to the rest of VIMS?

It shares your identity from keys.vims.com and is reachable by agents through MCP and Flow, so it works alongside every other VIMS app.
