What it does

Knowledge Base turns files and notes into searchable context. It embeds documents for semantic search, keeps a triple store for structured facts, answers questions with citations, and serves as the retrieval layer for agents and flows.

FAQ

Where does embedding happen?

Locally in the desktop app, or in the browser worker for web-only use.

What formats are supported?

Text, Markdown, PDF, and common office documents; .pixe bundles for VIMS-native knowledge.

Can I use VIMS Knowledge Base in a browser and in VIMS Desktop?

Yes. Open it at its subdomain, or use the same surface inside the VIMS Desktop client — same key, same data.

How does VIMS Knowledge Base connect to the rest of VIMS?

It shares your identity from keys.vims.com and is reachable by agents through MCP and Flow, so it works alongside every other VIMS app.
